'Hey big spender - take a little advice from us'

National Consumer Week 20 -24 November aims to raise the profile of consumer issues. It is organised by the Trading Standards Institute. This year the theme is major purchases and other topics such as cars , houses.

Coming soon in September is the national annual Citizens Advice service-wide event.

A week of events 3rd - 8th July to build awareness and access to health information.

Carers Week this year takes place from 12 - 18 June 2006, with the theme being In Sickness and in Health. Carers Week is organised by eight UK charities - Carers UK, Counsel and Care, Crossroads, Caring for Carers, Help the Aged, Macmillan Cancer Relief, MS Society, Rethink and the Princes Royal Trust for Carers.

The fifth National Pro Bono Week runs from 5-9 June 2006. It will promote the voluntary contributions made by lawyers who provide help and advice to those who need it.

Volunteers' Week is a national celebration of volunteers and volunteering which takes place from 1 – 7 June of each year.

Enjoy the benefits of getting older - 'Your Rights Week 2006' is an annual Age Concern campaign to encourage older people to claim their benefit entitlements.

This year's theme for this Day which is held on the 15th March is education and calls for people to be given the skills and knowledge to enable them to exercise their consumer rights.

This Day is observed annually on the 21st March.

Around the world, International Women's Day - 8th March, marks the economic, social and political achievements for women, including their rights.
