Greater access to consumer advice in Herefordshire

Following the national roll-out of a new telephone and on-line information and advice service the consumer advice provision of Trading Standards in Herefordshire has recently been transferred to Consumer Direct.

Consumer Direct will help in identifying and reporting scams and will empower consumers to be able to resolve issues themselves.

All calls to Herefordshire Council Trading Standards advice line are now automatically redirected to a helpline available from 8am to 6.30pm Monday to friday and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays (Bank holidays excepted).

The website www.consumerdirect.gov.uk has lots of helpful information and access to Consumer Direct by email.

Herefordshire Trading Standards Service will still be here to help consumers who have documents to examine and who may require additional assistance, in particular the vulnerable and elderly or those with additional needs. It is hoped that greater assistance will be available for mediation and alternative dispute resolution and support with small claim proceedings.
