Following the national roll-out of a new telephone and on-line information and advice service the consumer advice provision of Trading Standards in Herefordshire has recently been transferred to Consumer Direct.
Welcometoherefordshire.com has been set up Herefordshire Council, West Mercia Police and other partners who provide services to Herefordshire. The site aims to provide useful information to the estimated 25,000 seasonal workers in Portuguese, Russian and Polish and English.
New regulations are to be bought into effect from October 2006. They protect employees from discrimination and harassment on the grounds of age. They also introduce a national default retirement age.

The Citizens Advice service is a network of individual charities that helps people resolve their problems.  All their volunteers perform vital roles here in Herefordshire helping local people at times when they most need support and advice.
