Directory Inclusion Policy

The hereforadvice on-line Directory aims to include those organisations that provide community legal advice and information on civil law issues to the people of Herefordshire.

The Directory includes all those organisations that have obtained the Community Legal Service Quality Mark and are providing services in and around Herefordshire. This includes some national services such as CLSdirect. Also included in the Directory are other organisations that don't have the Community Legal service Quality Mark but are offering a level of community legal advice and information.

Organisations that do not have the CLS Quality Mark have made a self assessment as to the level of information and advice they offer, eg self help information to specialist.

Inclusion in the Directory is not a recommendation of the organisation or their services.

Community Legal Services are provided by a variety of organisations from information provision by the Herefordshire Libraries and Info in Herefordshire,  the general advice services of the voluntary sector, for eg Age Concern, Herefordshire CABx, ABLE  to the specialist private practice solicitors.

Some organisations may provide general advice and information on a range of issues such as benefits, family matters including wills, employment, consumer, housing, debt while others may specialise in several or only one area of law. The Directory will have details of the issues or the categories of law that the organisation provides advice and information in.  

The Directory includes details to how the advice and or information service is offered, for example it may be by telephone only or by a "drop-in" session or you may need to make an appointment.
